CEMEX supports RP–Latin American ties
Global building solutions provider CEMEX, founded and based in Mexico, expressed strong support for strengthening academic and cultural as well as economic and commercial exchange between the Philippines and other Latin American countries in a recent conference organized by the Philippine Academic Consortium for Latin American Studies (PACLAS) held at the Ateneo de Manila University. CEMEX Philippines Vice President for Investor Relations Paul Arcenas highlighted the company’s solid and continuous multi-million dollar investments in the country as a testament to its long-term vision of contributing to nation-building for Filipinos. PACLAS, founded in 2002, is a flagship project of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) for the Forum for East Asia-Latin America cooperation. The recent conference was held in collaboration with the Foreign Service Institute and DFA. The PACLAS event was graced by Mexican Ambassador to the Philippines H.E. Julio Camarena Villaseñor who was joined by First Secretary and Head for International Cooperation Arturo Villarruel.
