CEMEX strengthens ties, brings employment in Antipolo City
CEMEX Holdings Philippines (CHP) recently paid a courtesy visit to the new Antipolo City Mayor Andrea B. Ynares. The meeting served as an avenue for the company to reiterate its support to the local government through the construction of a US$235-milllon new cement production line at the company’s Solid Cement Plant in Barangay San Jose, Antipolo City. The expansion is expected to boost economic activity in the area via employment generation and additional tax revenues, as well as provide support to the country’s “Build, Build, Build” program.
Likewise, CEMEX continues to implement social development programs to help elevate the living standards and create positive impact on the residents of Antipolo City. Through its Corporate Social Responsibility arm, CEMEX Philippines Foundation, the company regularly conducts various programs such as medical missions, tree-planting and clean-up drives, health and nutrition drives, and disaster preparedness and safety training for the local communities.
The courtesy call was led by CEMEX President and CEO Ignacio Mijares (3rd from left). Accompanying him were Regional Director of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Chito Maniago and Corporate Communications Manager Erlinda Lizardo (5th and 6th from left, respectively). They were received by Antipolo City Mayor Andrea “Andeng” Ynares (4th from left) along with City Executive Atty. Eduardo Torres (leftmost) and City Planning and Development Office Head Rowena Zapanta (2nd from left).
