CEMEX makes health services accessible to Davao community

Guided by its social development vision of “Building the Nation Together,” CEMEX Philippines Foundation recently embarked on a medical mission in Barangay Tibungco, Davao City through its “Kalusugan, Kaligtasan, Kahandaan” or KKK initiative.

More than 300 members of the local community benefitted from the healthcare services provided by a team of doctors who supported the initiative, together with CEMEX Holdings Philippines’ employee-volunteers.

Medical consultations, health & nutrition seminars, circumcision for young boys, as well as medicines and vitamins were made accessible during the mission. Many also availed of the free haircut services provided by members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) as part of their participation in the program.

“Making healthcare more accessible is a cornerstone in building a more productive citizenry for nation-building. More than this, the outreach program is really intended to show care for our countrymen by helping prevent illnesses through proper healthcare. This is why, with our team of doctors and AFP personnel, CEMEX employee-volunteers made this initiative possible,” said Chito Maniago, Executive Director of CEMEX Philippines Foundation and Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Regional Director of CEMEX Philippines.

On behalf of the beneficiary community, Barangay Captain Merjade Calvo expressed her gratitude for CEMEX’s continuous support for helping improve the social welfare of communities like Barangay Tibungco and looked forward to a brighter future and more meaningful partnerships between the company and their barangay.
