CEMEX presents its low carbon Vertua product line and Sustainability efforts at DPWH’s Regional Summit

Underscoring the role of product innovation and sustainability in shaping a better future, CEMEX Philippines recently showcased its low carbon, eco-friendly Vertua product line and Sustainability efforts during the Department of Public Works and Highway’s Regional Planning and Design Summit.

The week-long summit saw over 200 delegates and guests, many of which were DPWH’s partners who could support the department’s plans featuring infrastructure projects in Region IV-B, through innovative and sustainable products and technologies.

Guilder Bringas, Commercial Director for Institutional Segment, showcased CEMEX’s sustainability initiatives which include decarbonizing operations and producing eco-friendly cement products, while Engineer John Gilbert Manansala, Technical Commercial Manager, talked about concrete and the benefits of using blended cement and chemical admixtures.

Other representatives from CEMEX such as the company’s Commercial Institutional and Marketing teams were also present to respond to queries on CEMEX products and services.

CEMEX’s Vertua products reduce CO₂ emissions by 15 to over 40 percent, in line with the company’s “Future in Action” campaign, a global strategy which focuses on reducing CO₂ emissions by 35% by 2025 and around 40% by 2030. The ultimate goal of CEMEX is to become a net-zero CO₂ company by 2050.

Vertua-branded products such as the Apo and Rizal Portland High Strength Blended Cement Type IP bear the Vertua Plus seal, signifying that these have corresponding classifications indicating the amount of CO₂ reduced in their production. With their strength, durability, and lower emissions, these products are suitable for green and resilient megastructures.
