CEMEX supports ASEAN environmental stewards

CEMEX Philippines recently hosted a plant tour for youth delegates of the 3rd ASEAN Foundation Model ASEAN Meeting (AFMAM). The educational visit is in line with the environmental stewardship theme of the consortium for university students in the region.

The country plays host to the 2017 ASEAN Summit with the theme “Partnering for Change, Engaging the World,” in observance of the 50th anniversary of ASEAN. The delegates and officials from ASEAN Foundation, USAID, Embassy of Canada, and League of Corporate Foundations experienced CEMEX’s “Si Mento at Ako” (Cement and I) guided tour inside Solid Cement Plant in Antipolo City and learned about the company’s responsible operations in cement manufacturing and its sustainable development programs in the community.

They likewise visited the iconic Hinulugang Taktak waterfalls and the San Jose information technology school, both supported by the company. CEMEX Philippines produces and markets the high-quality cement brands APO and Rizal.
