Build the Nation Together
Build the Nation Together is CEMEX Philippines’ umbrella Corporate Social Responsibility program. Its advocacies are dedicated to empower communities and uplift the lives of its beneficiaries through sustainable programs for the society and the environment.
CEMEX supports the Department of Education (DepEd) in building a bright future for the next leaders and changemakers of the country. We have an on-going Adopt-a-School program nationwide, particularly in Antipolo and Cebu.
Ligtas 24 Oras and Zero4Life are awareness programs that encourage CEMEX employees to push the notch higher when it comes to safety in the workplace. Some of our efforts include the community road safety program “Kayang-kaya kung Sama-Sama” and the Vehicle and Traffic Safety Award in partnership with Cement Manufacturer’s Association of the Philippines (CeMAP).
At CEMEX, we make sure that our stakeholders in the community understand the value of empowerment. One of our initiatives called “Experto Ako!” aims to beef up the knowledge of masons on the current cement technology.
CEMEX enjoys putting its collective efforts to get involved. H.E.R.O. (Help. Engage. Reach. Out.) is the banner program of all our employee volunteerism activities. Some of our supported groups and initiatives are the Futkalero Project (“Football sa Kalye”), STEP Kids, DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela, and other relief and rehabilitation mission.
We at CEMEX strive to maintain our strong multi-sectoral resolve to keep a cleaner land, ocean, and air.
Our Adopt-a-Species is a science-based and community-focused framework for long-term conservation of the ecology. Our adopted species are the Butanding (whale shark), Philippine tarsier, Negros bleeding heart pigeon, and Philippine eagle. We also conduct regular coastal clean-up and tree planting.
CEMEX taps into the vast knowledge and capability of both government and non-government organizations to widen the impact of its programs. Our collaboration with different agencies such as the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and Department of Education (DepEd) helps us in our grassroots implementation of our sustainability projects.
Our goal is not only to be the efficient global builder of future cities but also to be the builder of self-sustaining communities. Our efforts to help the communities on livelihood and skills development in San Jose, Antipolo and Naga, Cebu have seen a promising move towards sustainability by enabling every individual to succeed.
CEMEX supports the promotion of culture and the arts in the Philippines. The IMPACT Students' Festival and the company's various support to cultural and arts education initatives prove that CEMEX is an organization that values Filipino talent and heritage.
